You will spend unforgettable hours with a real Calabrian fisherman – the fishy waters of the Gulf of Sant’Eufemia offer a maximum of fun! Embarkation takes place at 09:30 or 16:30 in the port of Vibo Marina. We leave the port and go directly to the first of our various places to practice fishing and depending on the season we will also take advantage of the possibility of trolling. Even non regular fishermen will be able to live this unique experience thanks to our captain who will give you a professional guide! All the equipment is waiting for you on board. We will return to the port of Vibo Marina after 3-4 hours. On request we organize excursions to practice professional fishing with gillnets, palamito, coffa or nasse.
AMONG THE PRACTICABLE STYLES
BOLENTINO Pleasant technique practiced both with hand line and with rod and reel. It can give good results if practiced in areas with a high concentration of sparids such as rocky shoals, wrecks, etc.. In the shallow sandy bottoms it can give rich meats such as scallops, soles and tracine.
TRAINA DI SUPERFICIE O DI FONDO consists in pulling a bait in order to solicit the aggressiveness of predators. Very often, predators attack the bait not because they need to feed but simply because they are aggressive or, in the case of skipjack tuna, because they emulate them.
RETE DA POSTA E NASSA The gillnet, placed vertically and very long, is left in the sea leaving the prey to get caught in it. It is usually lowered in the afternoon and pulled the following morning. The creels are a net with a “funnel” at the end in which the fish are attracted by the bait and once inside they are no longer able to leave the trap.
